In-progress image of new style I'm using. Inking with digital color. I want to go for a cut-out look as I develop it. The sketch is from my book.

Finished God Paintings

Thoth

Anubis

Horus

Finally done with my Egyptian God series after 2 days straight of painting. The finals came out pretty good seeing that I was experimenting with a new style of painting. My favorite of the series was by far Thoth.

Don't Be Afraid

Just a sketch I did. The concept was a loss of innocence. I will probably play around with this idea in the future.

Falcon

Lanner Falcon - Falco biarmicus

Falcon study that I did before the Horus piece. I haven't painted birds in a while so I've been working on some studies to warm up for a series of paintings I have to do. He's also what I used for my new blog header.

Inspirations - Herakut

Hera and Akut

Street Art

"Of Frankfurt and Erfurt, Germany, respectively, Hera and Akut emerged as two of the strongest young voices on the contemporary street art scene. Their individual techniques are very different, but they do indeed compliment each other. Artwork featured tonight will include a combination of spray paint with charcoal, watercolors, and other paints on a variety of media, including wood, canvas, and paper. The gallery will be transformed into a work of art in itself, as Hera and Akut run wild and create a large-scale installation in the space."

Here is a look at Herakut, one of my favorite art duos. I picked up a book in the library and now I have been doing studies of their work to try to incorporate their style in my own work. I liked the way that their work had photo-realistic elements with a dreamy edge and quality of line.

Horus

Horus

Study of Horus. I wanted to create the Egyptian Gods in a series with selective realism. The style is inspired by the artists of Herakut.
